  • Transfer of recordings

I was wondering if it was possible to transfer my recordings off of my Hdvr2 on to a new HD receiver if I got one from Directv?

Nope - no way to do that, unfortunately.

I wasn't sure if maybe you could pull the drive out and use it as an external drive on the new receiver.

      Thanks. Bigdog22

Nope. The recordings are tied to the original unit.

If my unit is stuck on powering up and the HD is bad, is there anyway to transfer the programs on the bad HD to a new HD?

Unfortunately, not - the copy won't repair the problem, so you'll have the same problem on the next drive.

I got the unit up and running again and our list was okay, so if we wanted to get a larger HD would the transfer be possible now?

We can try - no guarantees with a failing drive.

Is there any way to copy off a recording on my Bolt, to my computer?

You can dig around for iTiVo or pyTiVo - those might still work.
