  • Transponder signal dropped

The last 2 days our satellite signals on our range of transponders have dropped from in the 90's down to the mid 30's to 40's. This has caused problems each time I go through setup to try to fix it the unit gets stuck on 0% from the satellite signal. Could my LNB'S have gone bad or is it the dish? The dish is 18" the unit is a HDVR2.

Have you done a visual inspection of the dish? My guess would be that a tree limb or something fell on it and is blocking the signal.

Short of that, yes, LNBs can fail, but it's fairly rare. The dish could also be out of alignment due to wind.

Yes I looked at the dish and everything was secure, I also checked the alignment but I didn't get any better signal. I don't know what else to try.

Could tree growth be blocking your line of sight?

yes there are some but they haven't grown any different while we had the higher signals.

Then it's probably time to ask DTV to come out and troubleshoot.
