Default upgrade problems

Tivo was stuck on gray "welcome, powering up" screen. Ordered new harddrive and installed, now there is no power to the tivo. When I plugged it back in there was no signs of power, no lights just a tiny little sound from inside, like something turning. Help, did I just waste money on a harddrive for no reason?

Thanks

P.S. ITs a Phillips DSR704

Carefully check the cable running from the power supply to the TiVo's motherboard.

Checked connections, everything is tight. But back together still nothing, just a tiny little sound inside like a watch turning.

Originally the problem seemed to be a hardware problem. Does a power supply problem cause the gray powering up screen as well? My original harddrive is 40gb and the new one is 320.

Is the ticking gone? If not, you have a short somewhere and/or a bad power supply.

You should probably email us with your order number so that we can see for sure that you ordered the right part for your model and situation.
