Question Power supply problem?(DRT800)

For the past year or two my Humax DRT800 now and again went dead except for the front lights on steady or very quick flicker. At first it only happened when the electricity went out. Recently it has happened more frequently and with no power interuptions. In the past I have been able to restart it by unplugging for a bit. Sometimes it took several tries but until now it always rebooted itself. No luck this time. Is a new power supply the best bet?

Yup - that's most likely a failed power supply. We have replacements here:

Default New power supply didn't help

Way back last May before the new power supply arrived my DRT800 rebooted and has worked OK until this week when a brief flicker from the power company knocked it out again. I just installed the new power supply but the Tivo will not power up. The fan runs and have steady red lights in front but no output--just like before. Any ideas?

Thanks

If you're sure you have the ps installed properly and if you're sure you have the cabling right from the TiVo to the TV, and if you're sure that you are watching on the correct input of your TV, then you might have a bad motherboard. See:

I don't see motherboards listed on your site for sale?

Right - we don't sell them (generally) but we repair them. See that link.
