Sorry - did you ever get this resolved?

You can use a Mini Vox with the Wifi adapter even if the main TiVo is wired - no problem that way at all.

Connecting a Mini via Wireless Adapter

I am thinking of purchasing a Mini to connect to a television in a room where I don't have a convenient ethernet cord or outlet. If the Tivo Bolt or Tivo Roamio unit I am connecting the Mini to is hard-wired into my network, can I successfully use a wireless adapter to connect the Mini? Or must the Mini also be connected by ethernet? The room should have great wireless connectivity, as it is where my network router is located.
