  • S3 Audio issues with internet content

    I am experiencing audio issues with content delivered to my new S3 over the internet. I can see the video but can not hear the audio from shows purchased from Amazon Unbox, videos delivered by Tivo to my messages and video advertisements that show up as the last item on the Tivo Central screen. Audio and video from shows recorded via my cablecards play perfectly. I am using optical cable to connect the Series 3 to my AVR. The only way that the audio plays from Amazon Unbox purchases is when I switch the AVR audio connection from an optical cable to an analog cable. I can get the audio to play through the optical cable if I switch the audio settings on the Series 3 from Dolby Digital to Dolby Digital-PCM.

    Are there audio preference settings on Amazon Unbox? If not, do they exist on the TiVo for Unbox downloads? If switching to PCM solves the problem but the quality is still unsatisfactory, you may need to somehow specify the type of audio the S3 needs to record for those shows.
