  • Hard Drive Replace Two in Box

I have a Tivo HDR 212 and it was having classic hard drive failure symptoms. I bough a single 160gb hard drive to replace the existing. When I opened the cover, there were two hard drives. One 20.4gb AT Fireball and the other 80gb Seagate. Do I take them both out? Does it matter which side I put the new single drive on? and what about the unconnected ends of the power and cable?

    Thankx for any help

Yes, you'll take both of the old drives out, and no, it doesn't matter which side you mount the new drive. It's okay to leave the unused cable connections empty, although traditionally, a single drive would be connected to the furthest end of the cable from the motherboard.
That's all there is to it!
