Reset drive from TiVo to Windows system

My Seagate drive was upgraded using the Hinsdale TiVo Upgrade procedure for my Series 1. Now that I have a Series 2 TiVo I want to restore that drive so that it can be used in a Windows XP system. I have a Linux system which can be used to do that if necessary.

Your Windows system should just see the drive and offer to format it if you connect it and then boot the machine.

Have the same question; however, when I connect the Maxtor 160gb drive to a Windows XP system, the system only 'sees' 9 mb. Any clue?
