  • TiVo Series 3 HD jumpiness/hiccups

I recently changed cable companies, and with my new cable company, I'll get seconds of jumping/hiccups on recorded programs, HD and not, where the program will "skip" a second and the picture gets pixilated.

    I've posted a sample here:

The audio is out of sync from the compression - the TiVo doesn't have that problem. Check the :01, :22, and :42 second marks to see the hiccupping. Does anyone know what might cause that?

I realize it's presumptuous to ask for a quick answer, but it just started happening, and my TiVo 1-year $49 replacement warranty expires on Feb. 17th!

    Thanks a million,
    Joe

My guess would be interference on the cable line. Does it only happen on premium channels? Are you also using an antenna for HD locals? Does it happen on those?

It happens on HD & non-HD, network & non-network, all of which are from cable.

I've just got a Radio Shack in-line cable amplifier (added after I recorded the clip). I hope that helps.

Tell us if that does the trick - it stands a good chance.
