  • move a drive from one dvr to a new one

I purchased and installed a weaknees supplemental harddrive for my Phillips Directv TIVO dvr a couple of years ago. Now i am going to upgrade my directtv service to HD which means they will replace my dvr with a new HD model. I think they may even take my TIVO away since I don;t think directv has an agreement with TIVO anymore.

My question is, is there anyway to salvage the weaknees supplemental hardrive from my existing dvr and install it in the new HD dvr as a second drive?

Not really - the drive you have is an IDE drive, but the new unit uses SATA drives. We have those here:
