Philips DirecTV Drive in Tivo Series 2?

Is it possible to drop the drive from an unused Philips DirecTV DVR in a Tivo Series 2 without addiitonal hardware? I was able to get everything except the power chord from within the Philips DVR. Will the drive even be compatible?

The drive will be, but the software on the drive will not be. You can get your drive reprogrammed, though:

Thanks for the info. The drive formatting/software is what I was worried about. Doesn't quite seem worth the effort as it's only a 40gb drive. Maybe I'll toss it in a case and use it as an external HD.

Right - for a 40, it's probably not worth the price.
