Been crawling through the forums and haven't found one quite like this one...
Got a TCD540040 which seems to be degrading towards failure. It used to occasionally lose the picture during live broadcast video. The picture would go black but the audio would still be present and I could bring up the TiVo menus and reboot it.
Lately its been turning the screen black and losing the audio too. I can't bring the TiVo menus up on the screen, so I've been forced to just pull the plug and wait a minute. Always boots fine and resumes, but its been happening more frequently.
The front lights never dim or go out, so I'm not suspecting the power supply. Any WK'ers have any ideas?
