  • Tivo S3 HD- Have to unplug and plug back in after TV is off over night...

    Tivo S3HD. Every morning when TV is turned on, get the 'no signal' message on the screen. Tivo does not respond to any remote signals. Have to unplug and then plug back in to start it up. Doesn't seem to happen when the TV is off for only a short period of time.

    Also, have another S3HD that gets the loss of signal problem, with the occasional green screen and screaching noise. Have to unplug/plug to restart. This one happens on occasion and at random and normally is fine when the TV is off for long periods.

    Thoughts? Both have M stream cable card, Charter is cable/hd provider.

    Both sound most like bad drives, although there are some other possibilities. But you should definitely try drives first:

      What leads you to believe it is a hard drive? Also, what are some of the other options you mention? Before spending the money on a hard drive, I would like to explore other less expensive options first. Tivo support said that it was a cable card problem, which I suspected they would say as it is easier to blame the cable company, though it did take over 15 different cards just to get one to work.
