Pixilated picture - not a wiring problem

We have a Tivo Premiere XL. Has anyone gotten and resolved a pixilated picture on live tv shows. Playback of recorded shows previously recorded is fine. We confirmed that it is the box and not a wiring or cable issue. We are trying to avoid getting a new box.

Sounds like a failing hard drive.

Tried it Michael. It failed. So we are attempting to transfer the shows on an external to TiVo Desktop, and eventually transfer them back to a refurbished Tivo. It is taking forever. Any way to speed up the process? Any other ideas?
