Tivo DVR29 Power Issue

Tivo DVR29 Power Issue

My DVR29 (RCA) has no power light. No Fan, No disk spin. I do hear a faint clicking when power is connected.

I have tried cleaning the ribbon cable contacts and flipped the cable with no luck.

Interestingly, when power is on, with ribbon cable disconnected the hard drive starts up.

Any thoughts on what the problem might be?????

Sounds like it might need a new power supply to me; a problem that is often associated with faint clicking believe it or not. Here's a link for a replacement:

Thanks for the info. I have the PS on order along with a new ribbin cable. Will let you know if that solves the problem.
