  • Replacing two hard drives with one

My Hughes HDVR2 Tivo has been pausing/stuttering for the past few weeks so I figure it's time to replace the hard drives. I have the original hard drive which is fairly small plus a larger drive that I ordered through WeaKnees about 3 years ago. My question is this: Can I replace both the factory drive and the larger drive with one drive? If so, is there anything in particular that I need to be aware of? I read through the FAQs but didn't see anything on replacing two hard drives with one.

    Thanks in advance.

You're fine to go ahead and replace both drives with a single. You can mount the new drive in either position on the bracket and connect it, preferably, to the end position of the IDE cable. You'll have one open IDE position remaining and one branch of the power splitter unused as well.
That's all there is to it!
