  • Tivo service not answering (N13)... ??????

    I have two Tivos. One works fine over my home wireless network. The other sees the network and seems to try, but then displays the message "Tivo service not answering (N13)". Note: does not work using phone call, either!
    Called Tivo service - was told "You need to open these ports on your router"... followed by long list of port numbers. Suspect this is BS - why is the other Tivo working just fine? And - why doesn't it work via phone line if the router is at fault? Not logical....
    A previous Tivo support person I talked to suggested downloading new software by using a USB-to-Ethernet adapter, which I bought - but when I called back got the BS above. Any ideas????

    Have you tried just rebooting?

    If that doesn't help, the problem is most likely a problem with the hard drive. Every time we've seen that error, a new drive fixes it.
