  • Desktop Plus and secured network

I have engaged security measures on the wireless network on which my TiVo is connected. I confirmed that it was connecting after settings were changed. Later that day, I played some audio files published with TiVo Desktop so I know all was well then. That evening, after rebooting the computer (Windows XP) I noticed that Tivo server did not start and had a flag “Internal Error Occurred”. I have tried removing and re-installing Desktop (v. 2.8.2), re-registering VB script, Running desktop cleaner, pretty much everything I can think of.

I need help with this problem please.

TiVo Desktop works fine on a secured wireless network, so I think the issue is network related. You might try removing all security temporarily to see if that changes anything. If it doesn't, you know the issue lies elsewhere. If removing security solves your issue, then you might try a different security protocol.

Do you know of protocols that produce a problem with Desktop but not TiVo service?

Nope - we really don't, but that doesn't mean there aren't any.
        Been here a long time . . .
