  • viewing movies from a pc on a dsr708

If the movie is cap'ed (from cable) and encoded as a mpeg 2 using a pc, can it be dumped to a dsr708 to view on a tv?

    background info:
I have a pc set up to cap to the h.d. But have no tv out capability.
Can the dsr708 (not presently in service) be networked and used to view the movies? (dump the movie to the tivo, watch it later)
The opposite of what most want to do....

    Thanks.
    Clark.

No - no way to transfer files to DirecTV boxes.

DirecTV locks the content to the box. They don't want it moved anywhere.

OK - I'll tell that of all the hacks out there that I've seen (legal and not) none can crack already-recorded shows.

I admit it's an interesting problem. But I am closer than I was.

Obviously, if you figure out a way, we'd all be interested.
