  • Tivo/Direct TV issue

    I have a series 2 Tivo and a newer Direct TV receiver (silver unit). Until about a week ago the channel on both would change to record a show like it should. Now, the Tivo display comes on and tells me the channel needs to change (yes or no). I click yes. The Tivo shows that the channel changed like it was programmed to, but the Direct TV box is not changing the channel on the TV. The IR is intact.

    What else could be the cause? Thanks for any help - this is my first time here.

    Have you tried rebooting both units? Can you change the channel manually from the DTV receiver's remote?

      Yes and Yes.. Problem still occurs

        You can use a video camera to see if the IR is working. Just look through the viewfinder at the IR transmitter. Change channels, and you should see red through the video camera. See if that helps troubleshoot.
