  • Missing Audio

I have a Series 1 Sony TIVO, with Comcast Basic Cable, no box. TIVO works great on all channels but 1 (Ch 52 Comedy Channel). On that channel I get video, but no audio. Actually audio is very, very low, and slightly distorted. Turning it up to max gives slight audio, but at that level even the TIVO beeps are way too loud. It is basically unwatchable (or listenable). This occurs in both watching live TV thru the TIVO and during record and playback. When I bypass the TIVO and watch directly from the cable to the TV, the audio is fine.

I have new upgraded HD ( 1 year old).

    Any suggestions?

Sometimes, we've seen strange audio problems with Series 1 standalone units that are resolved with new power supplies, so that's one thing to try. But those are usually across the board.

Have you tried just restarting the unit?

It does sound like you've isolated the issue to the TiVo, but have you tried using it on a different cable outlet and/or with a different TV?
    Been here a long time . . .
