No Land-line

Extreme newbie to Tivo.
I only have cell phones at home. I just bought aPhillips PTV100 DVR (series 1), can I use it as a stand alone recorder, or will I have to have a hard wired phone line?

You can use it as a standalone, no-service recorder, once it's set up. If you are stuck in setup, you may need to bring it elsewhere for some dial-ins.
