Humax TIVO w/DVD picture is too dark

I have a refurb Humax TIVO with DVD obtained from Weaknees. The picture is too dark, apparently due to a low video signal amplitude.

Is there a way to adjust the video gain?

We probably need to just get it back here and swap it out.
