  • Help!!!

I have a 50080 series Tivo well one day it stuck on the powering up screen. With a little research on the Weakness site I decided it was the hard drive. So I ordered one. I replaced the original drive....still the same. More research and I decided that it was the power supply. I ordered one. I replaced the power supply and I am still on the powering up screen, please does anyone have any idea whats wrong. Thank in advance..

That really sounds a lot more like a bad drive than a bad power supply. Are you sure you ordered for exactly the right model number? Are you sure it's installed correctly?

I will double check that. After I get the powering up screen after a minute the screen goes white or gray and then nothing happens.

That's pretty unusual actually. You might have a bad motherboard.

It has a lifetime sub so I would like to save it. What does replacing a motherboard take?

You'd have to call TiVo about that. Most likely, they'll swap you with a refurbished unit and they'll move your lifetime sub to the refurb, for a fee.
