I don't want DVR, I want Tivo! I currently have DirecTV and which I may be able to buy HD Tivo on my own at some point (out of stock now), I can't get it directly from DirecTV. Is moving to the Dish network any better? Are they an option?

Not Dish, but cable is the best because you can get the TiVo Series3 unit, which is truly fabulous.Been here a long time . . . -

Actually, the interactive guide is fully there, and is really still the best guide on any type of DVR or cable box we've ever used. There are two different formats, and both are feature-rich and data-packed.Been here a long time . . .Comment

The Series3 connects to TiVo's servers and downloads its guide data from there. Then, it indexes that, and organizes it in two grid formats.Been here a long time . . .Comment
