  • Tivo Series 2 sparking

Hi All - We have a Tivo Series 2. We unplugged the unit (disconnected the female end from the unit), but when we went to plug it back in, sparks could be seen inside the unit. Jiggling the cord gives more sparks & will make some connection, but not enough to keep the Tivo working. Do we need a new power supply?
    Thanks

Yowch! Don't plug it back in!

That is likely a bad power supply, and a new one should likely fix it, but please be VERY VERY CAREFUL THERE!

We haven't plugged it back in. But we thought it odd that it gave no indication of a problem until we attempted to plug it back in. In other words it seemed to be working fine, other than not changing the channel on the cable box.
      Thanks

So maybe it's unrelated, but it's clearly top priority to fix.
