TIVO series 3 - No power

my HD Tivo TCD652160 doesnot turn on. I plugged it in and i can hear a buzz sound when i put my ears against it. but there is no light in the front panel nor any signal to the TV. Can someone help. Thank you

It's possible that you need a new power supply, but it's impossible to know based on those symptoms.

can it be the hard drive

i called Tivo customer service and they said that it might be the hard drive. how do i know whether it is the power supply or the hard drive before i buy one. thank you
