Shows not immediately appearing in "Now Playing"

I have a Tivo with an upgraded hard drive. Recently it has started having problems. When you go to "Now Showing", it will sometimes take a long time to display the list of shows. However, the recently deleted folder and another networked Tivo both appear immediately. Sometimes it will take several minutes for the shows to appear, while at other times they will come up without any pause at all.

Can anyone help me diagnose what is wrong with the Tivo and how I can fix it?

That sounds like a failing hard drive.

But to see if maybe this will fix it, you might try just rebooting the unit. Sometimes that speeds them up significantly.
