  • SVR-2000 & DirecTV HD

    Hi guys,

I recently installed my old TiVo SVR-2000, the box is running great. However, I subscribed to DirecTV HD with the digital receiver box. (I switched providers) I believe that the TiVo does not support the digital box.
My old box was a Motorola which was worked fine with cable provider.

Is there anyway that the TiVo can control the box by using it's IR??
There are too many list to try on, I can't try each of them...

    Rgds,
    EM

Sure - it should work. Have you redone Guided Setup?

yes, i went back to the TiVo setup, but couldn't find the right cable box from the list, and so the TiVo wouldn't be able to control my DirectTV (digital box).

is there any way that the TiVo can mimic the remote control feature from that specific DirecTV box?

or should I call TiVo support?

      thanks in advance,
      EMm

            So, it's an H23?

Those models are known to be pretty finicky with the TiVo IR blaster.

What model did you choose from the list for the control? D11?

              Hi WK-Michael,

              Oh really?
Actually, Im still looking at the list from the TiVO, but couldn't figure out which company made the receiver? is that made by hughes?
and I did tried to look from the DirecTV page to find out the details, but they are not published.

greatly appreciated if you can help me furnish with the details.

              rgds,
              Emm

It's really just branded by DirecTV.

Try the DirecTV D10 or D11 code. That should do it.

                  Problem solved!!

I actually went back to the "Guided Setup" in TiVo, and selected the "satellite" input for the media, instead from the previous one as "cable" receiver.

I went to call the Tivo Customer service, they pretty much guided me with the steps.

And as for the remote control setup, DirecTV was on the list and it was working well.

                  Thanks for your help again.
