  • Tivo sound after repair

I have an old Tivo (series 2) with a lifetime subscription.

After buying and installing a new hard drive from weaknees (ty!) it all seemed to work fine, except the sound.

If I put my input on regular tv the shows have sound, however the Tivo itself does not have any. Including the regular bleeps and blips when you're hitting select.

I'm not sure what the problem is. The Tivo is connect to the Direct TV receiver through the television. Did I perhaps connect something wrong inside when I changed out the hard drive?

    Thanks for any help.

Pretty strange. Could the external cable connections be wrong?

that's the thing. I have no idea. I'm going to double check them, but I had my boy do it. I can't say I'm a wizard on those kind of connections. Fiddling around can't hurt, right? ;-)

EVerything seems hooked up correctly. I've resetted the directtv receiver and the tivo. Still no sound from the tivo. I'm at a loss.

So the sound cables are going from the DirecTV receiver to the TiVo, and then from the TiVo to the TV?
