  • TiVo not working with Comcast DTA

    I've got a dilemma with my Series 2 DVR now that Comcast requires a DTA in order to recieve my subscribed channels. I hooked up the IR cable per the TiVo online instructions. It worked for a few weeks and then suddenly started having problems. Channels were taking forever to change and then weren't changing at all. It seemed as though the TiVo wasn't talking to the DTA anymore. I posted the problem on the TiVo forum and didn't get it resolved. I'm about to give up on my Series 2, since I'm not getting full usage (only basic cable channels) and will be faced with buying a Series 3. I really don't want to do that. I'm wondering if other Series 2/Comcast users are left with abandoning their unit and upgrading due to issues with the IR configuration not working. It's not a very straightforward solution.

    Have you asked for a replacement DTA? It sounds like your DTA may have just failed.
