  • Ran 220 V into my Tivo due to bad circuit in new house

I replaced the power supply (obviously popped capacitor) on my Series 2 (5 years old) and that definitely is now putting power into the rest of the Tivo [testing with voltmeter on board. However, no drive spin up, no signal coming out, and no fan turning on.

Is it worth trying a replacement drive? or should I throw in the towel and just assume the power surge (10 minutes) probably fried everything?

If you have lifetime service, you might consider a flat-fee repair:

Even with no drive and everything else working, you'd get output on the TV and lights on the front (and fan spinning).

Thanks for the info- that's what I was afraid of.
