Fan issues

My Tivo Premiere (2 tuner) fan was noisy, so I tried to replace it. Now even though there is 10.58 volts coming off the fan pins, none of the replacement fans will spin up. Is there something I am missing? The red wire goes on the side close to the power supply. The Tivo works fine.

Can I run without a fan? Or perhaps I can hack an outside powered fan?

Where did you get the fan? What type of connector does it have on it?
