  • Tivo audio skipping

I first noticed this with my tivo premiere, but it's happening with my bolt as well. After some amount of time (several days?), playing a stored video has audio dropouts roughly every 30 seconds. It doesn't matter which show I pick, they all do it.

It's easily fixed by rebooting the Tivo, but if it is recording something I don't want to do that.

Anyone else ever see this, and anythoughts on how to deal with it?

This same behavior is occurring on two different units? I'd guess that you have some type of electrical interference, or possibly a cable wire that isn't properly grounded.

However, in both cases, rebooting the box clears up the audio. I was thinking something like a memory leak reducing the amount of memory for processing. It's a playback thing, not a recording thing. After rebooting, the audio is fine (including the part that was bad before the reboot.

Sure - rebooting would clear built-up charge from a grounding issue.
