  • Accident! Created partition on 250GB Tivo drive, Is it ruined?

    In the process of testing a hard drive I think I may have created or deleted a partition. I'm not sure how its possible with the HDD tools but in the process the drive started showing as "partitioned space". It did not show a partition when I began.

    It ended up passing the test so I placed it in the Tivo. It now hangs on the "welcome. powering up..." screen.

    Did i Just ruin this thing trying to test the drive?

    Drive: 250GB Western Digital. Tivo Unit: HR10-250 (Direct TV)

    Right - booting a TiVo drive into many Windows OS versions renders them useless. Windows, in its own wisdom, writes a partition to any drive attached, in certain situations.
