Will a directivo rca dvr 39 backup image with the updated 6.4a software work on a rca dvr 80 ?

HELP Now I'm really confused today I was told that the dvr39 and dvr 80 had the same software but the file system was different . Can someone explain ? I'm trying to install a updated image on an directivo rca dvr80 but I only have an updated image for a rcadvr39 will it work correctly ?
