S3 will pause live tv, but won't record programs

    S3 will pause live tv, but won't record programs

    My S3 is able to pause live TV and playback, but it won't record any programs.

    If I select record>record this program it says it will, but doesn't.

    On the screen where the options are at the upper right, the red record light is never on. The red record light on the unit never comes on, even when pausing live tv.

    I've tried the self-diagnostics 57, 58, and 54.

    Any ideas?

    Sometimes it just needs a new drive. I have had a similar issue and tried all the self diagnostics you did to no avail. I replaced the drive(on my own) with a new one from Weeknees and ta-dah, fixed. I don't know how old your unit is but it's just like a computer and they don't last forever. Wish there was a quick fix, but I think you must know what you're doing or you wouldn't of known about the self-diagnostic tests. Wish there was an easy answer.

      By the way, the new drives from Weeknees are easy to replace.

        Pretty strange. Does anything at all show in your Now Playing List?
