  • Pioneer DVR 57H thrift store bargin?

Picked up a Pioneer Elite DVR 57H cheap and surprise it doesn't work. Front panel is dark and no response. HDD makes clinking sound twice and
then nothing. Checked main voltages on power supply and all that the service manual list look good but two voltages FLDC+ and FLDC- which have
no value on the schematic, measure different. FLDC+ is 20.77vdc and FLDC- is -25.62vdc which is a spread of about 5vdc which is logic level. I
don't know if this is correct since the schematic gives no value here. Can someone that's had experience working on a similar problem give me
    some guidance?

Sorry to say, we don't really measure those voltages on a regular enough basis for me to tell you if that's OK, but in any event, your drive noise does suggest a head crash.

Do you get any video out, even a gray "Welcome, Powering Up" screen?
    Been here a long time . . .
