new D*tivo not saving favorite channels

I had a Directv Tivo that died & so bought a new refurbished one from Weeknees. I just hooked it up today & everything seems to be like my original except I can't save my favorite channels in either the guide or live tv. Tried a couple times & it just won't save.

Also the guide is different than the guide that I had in the original D*Tivo box. I remember when I hooked up the original I had a choice of 2 types of guides. Is that possible or not?

Any help with these would be appreciated.

I think I found the solution to this problem. At the bottom of the guide it says press Enter for guide options, I was able to get my favorite channels to work in the guide and on live tv and change the guide to the list that I like better. It was what I was looking for but in all my searching to correct the problem, I didn't see this before I wrote for your help.
