Is the MAK address unique to the hard drive or unique to the "box"? If you upgrade or change your hard drive, does the MAK address change? Thanks for any responses!

As far as I know, it's unique to the box and a drive change doesn't affect it.Been here a long time . . . -
The MAC address is unique to the networking hardware, which may be inside the box or an external device such as an ethernet to USB adaptor.Comment

There's a difference between a MAC address (Media Access Control - which is the way ethernet and other networks differentiate between hardware) and the MAK (Media Access Key which is how TiVos and PC software serialize to and unlock content).Been here a long time . . .Comment
