HDVR2 Hard drive

Is it possible to install the twinbreeze bracket and two stock hard drives I have a spare from another unit that I put a bigger hard drive in.

Sure, but you'll have to do the computer work for that:

The drives won't both work together automatically.

Thanks so much for the help, I am not so sure it is worth all that for a not so computer savvy guy like me. If more space is needed I think I will just put in an upgrade kit, much easier and I know that works without hassle.

One more question is it possible to force a software download from direct TV on this old unit? I know how on my HR21 but not sure if it is possible on this unit.

Nope - as long as it's connected to a phone line, updates just come when they come.
