should I hook my HR22 to the internet

I have had an HR22 for about 6 months & it's never been hooked to an internet connection. It has worked great for me. Recently I added an intenet connection using a Sprint Air card & a Cradlepoint hub. Should I connect the HR 22 to it? What are the advantages/disadvantages?

As an aside, I also have a Sony PS3. Should I somehow connect the HR22 to my PS3?

If you connect the HR22, you can get DIRECTV Video on Demand, which has some decent content. Also, if your PS3 is in the same room, you can use that single Internet connection to the HR22, and then connect the PS3 to the HR22 and you will then have both devices online.

Does the HR22 receive updates via satellite of there is no internet connection? Is there any advantage to having the PS3 & HR22 connected?

It is by satellite regardless.

The HR22 does not communicate with the PS3 in any way.
