  • Directv activation of THR22-100

    I bought a THR22-100 and went to activate it on my account. I have another THR22-100 on my account already. I thought activating a 2nd would be easy. I was wrong. Their policy is to not activate any new Tivos. I spent over an hour on the phone and talked with a T3 supervisor. He tried activating it manually and it wouldn't allow him. I expressed my displeasure.

    I called back a day later to 800-531-5000. I talked to someone and they tried for a while and didn't get it to work but said she'd call me back and that activation would extend my contract by 24 months. I said extending my contract is fine as long as you can activate the Tivo. She called me back several hours later and was able to activate my the new Tivo. I asked her what she did and it involved an e-mail to some other department to create an order and then she could do something with the order that would allow her to activate it.

    My case # was 367509696. If you run into issues activating, then maybe referencing my case will help your tech person get it solved.
