  • How to make 2 lines in work with 2 SWM8s

I only have 2 lines coming into the house. The only way I see this working is:
4 lines from the Dish coming into SWM Expander; 4 lines coming from SWME2 into one SWM8 and 4 lines coming into the other SWM8, ALL OUTSIDE. Power supply connected from E2 to power outlet outside.

Then I have the two lines coming from the two SWM8s into the house. Once inside I use the splitters to take the 2 lines to up to 16 tuners.

All of these outside connections would have to be enclosed somehow to protect them as the SWM E2 is not waterproof. Also is it OK to connect power outside as long as the unit is protected?

So is this the only way to make 2 lines coming in work with 2 SWM8s?

If you can get a good weatherproof enclosure, then using the E2 is preferable. The alternative is to use four two-way splitters, which would enable you to have the SWMs powered inside. See:

Can an E2 be used initially with only one SWM8? If so, are terminators required for the second set of E2 connections?

Yes, you can use it for one SWM, and terminators are not required.
