  • Diplexing Guideleines

    Hi..

Can anyone Help with Diplexing into a SWM 3 or SWM 5 LNB..

I don't have any Multi Switches with the Exception of the LNBF just a Single Cable from the LNBF to a 4 way SWM Splitter

Can I Diplex a Off-Air Signal at any Point in this Setup..

I was Informed that I could NOT but would welcome some More Input on this Matter

    Thanks

    Mem..

You should be able to do it, so long as you use the right diplexers. Basically the sat cable and off-air go into the diplexer and a single cable, containing both, comes out. You reverse the process at your receiver, using another diplexer.

      Thanks for your Answer..

But let me add to it if I may..

The Non SWM KA/KU LNB's used a BBC because it was my Belief that the HD Channels occupied the VHF/UHF Band..

The BBC then Upconverted them back to the Sat Band.

Does the SWM LNB's No-Longer Use the VHF/UHF Band ?

Will I now be able to Use Diplexers to add the Off-Air Channels in My Area..

I have been told by my Trainer that I still Cannot use Diplexers on a SWM LNBF and Splitter

      Also..

What about the receiver where the Power Inserter is Used..

How can I use a Diplexer on that Port..

      Many Thanks

Right - the SWM LNB also doesn't use the VHF/UHF space. So you can diplex off-air into that cable also.

The signals will travel right through the power inserter, uninterrupted.
        Been here a long time . . .
