    I can't find this information anywhere -

    The geek in me wants to know what the insertion loss is off of a SWM-8.

    For instance, let's say I've got -45 dBm coming in to the input of the SWM-8, what is my signal level at the output?

    The SWM-8 Spec Sheet only shows that the output power level is -31 dBm minimum. It doesn't show the actual insertion loss (or gain if it is actually amplifying the signal).

    I've found insertion loss info on everything else for a SWM system - power inserters, amplifiers, splitters, etc., but no info on the SWM-8 itself.

    Also, does anyone know if -35 dBm is still a good planning factor if using the new single wire LNB?

    I'm sorry to say, we just don't have the specs on that.

      Re-reading the spec sheet, it appears that the SWM-8 may auto compensate for gain / loss?

      If it sees -45 dBm to - 15 dBm, it will output a minimum of -31 dBm? Am I reading this correctly?

      I guess I could see - 31 out from a -45 input, but my question remains as to what the actual output is if the input is -15 dBm?

        Insertion loss for a SWM8:

        Loss: 10.0 db max (terrestrial)
        Loss: 10.0 db max (return path)
