  • SWM With 5 LNB Slimline Dish and Two Wires

    Hi

I am sure this question has been asked/answered before, so I apologize for any duplication.

I have a DirecTV 5 LNB Slimline Dish that has 4 outputs. Unfortunately, my house is only wired with two RG6 cables from the dish to the distribution point. This works great for a single receiver, but I would like to upgrade to SWM. Unfortunately, I can't easily add the two other wires.

Is there a way to use SWM with a two wire legacy slimline dish? I will need to power any amplifier from my closet inside the house - at my OnQ box.

    Thanks for any help.

Just put the SWM8 at the dish, and use the two wires coming into the house on the SWM1 and SWM2 ports.

Then, put the power inserter inside the house in the closet.

This would only support two receivers, correct?

Actually, it would support 8 tuners. So a DVR has two tuners, and a regular receiver has one. Up to four DVRs or eight receivers, or a mix.
