HR23 with new SWM-8

Hi,

I was recently upgraded from an HR20 to an HR23 DVR. I noted that the installer removed the B Band converters, telling me they are built into the HR23 and not required externally.

I have the 5 LNB slimline antenna with four leads into the house.

I'm getting ready to install a new SWM-8 and understand B Band converters need to be removed from all receivers when I go to this configuration. How does the HR23 opt itself out of the built in B Band converters when I go to hook up only one cable for the dual tuners?

I can't see any menu option for opt out.

Also, will my firmware have to update when I install the SWM-8 or do I have to force it to update?

You don't need to reconfigure the SWM8 or the HR23. Both auto-sense the other, and they'll do what's necessary to get the right signal through.

On the HR23, you'll have to power it down and up at the very least, and you may need to press the red reset button to get it to check the incoming signal and do what's necessary.
