  • SWM not working after returning from vacation

Went away for vacation and left the receivers powered on so we could record our normal programs. When we returned, none of the receivers are receiving signal from the satellites. We've unplugged and rest all receivers. Directv was out and replaced the lnb and swm splitter to no avail.

My setup is a swm dish, swm splitter in the basement, HD dvr (2 deca)in the family room, hd receiver in the bedroom (1 deca because it's an older receiver). The router is behind the TV in the family room, so one deca adapter attached to that receiver has a power inserter and there is an ethernet cable between the deca adapters.

The bedroom TV has a deca adapter with no power inserter attached to one tuner and a cable with a filter connected to the second adapter.

The technician that was here said he does not have a meter to check signal coming in from the dish. He says the decas MUST be bad. Is it likely that all three decas stopped working at the same time? Any other possibilities?

We checked with our neighbors and there were no power outages while we were out of town. None of the clocks or appliances showed signs of a power loss/hit.

So if you take a DECA adapter out of the system, do you get signal to that unit? Can he swap out DECAs and show you that it works?

DECAs haven't been out very long, so we don't know how solid they are yet, but we haven't seen even one fail yet, so three in one location would have to the result of some major even like a lightning strike, IMHO.
    Been here a long time . . .

He didn't have/couldn't get them until today. I have two non-deca equipped receivers as well (kids rooms) and they have no sat signal either.

So it's got to be the wiring or the LNB. But has anyone checked the SWM power inserter?
