  • Direct Tv Slimline Dish

My sun living in Atlanta GA has a

    DIRECTV SLIMLINE DISH

    multi-satellite dish antenna with integrated KA/KU LNB's with built-in multi-switch

99/101/103/110/119 integrated LNB with 4 outputs

    He has a SWM-8 switch to a HR-24 receiver.

Everything worked very well for 2 weeks and with no reason the HR-24 lost the satellite signal.

He checked signal with a accumeter 111 at the outpit ov the antenna and good strong signal.

Any idea of what is the problem ?

    Thank you for help.

verify that the swm 8 has power ... check the output on the power supply

Also, if possible, try bypassing the SWM and connecting from the dish directly to the HR24. You might have to go through satellite setup again to tell the HR24 that you're not using the SWM.

        Did Everything

My son verify and power supply is OK

He bypassed the SWM-8 and the receiver have a signal.....so my conclusion is a bad SWM-8 switch ?

        Any clue.

        Thank you

It's possible, but that would be surprising as failures are extremely rare. Are you sure the power supply is delivering power to the SWM? Have you tried the red reset button on the DVR?

            Hi

He told me that the green light in on on the power inserter and the SWM-8 switch is warm....so the switch receive power.

For the second question, yes he tried to reset the receiver with the red button.

            But still no signal detected.

              OK one more question:

              Can i use a SWM-8 with a HR-24 receiver.

In other words, if i have a swimline antenna, can i use the SWM-8 switch betwen the antenna and the HR-24 receiver ?

Yes - no B-Bands are used like that. Maybe that's the issue?
